"My family has owned, and bred, the bloodline of the Rin Tin Tin dogs since 1957, and I have seen first-hand what this raw diet can do to improve not only performance, but overall health and vitality in dogs. The bloodline is widely known for producing working dogs. Through ARFkids Foundation, service dogs are trained by volunteers and provided to disabled children nationwide, at no cost. Through Rin Tin Tin incorporated, we provide search & rescue dogs, nationwide.

Rin Tin Tin VIII, along with his offsprings, serve as true testimonials. They are living proof in my endorsement of these exemplary products. I recommend them for dogs of all ages."

The Most Frequently Asked Questions About
Feeding A Raw Diet To Dogs

Q. Why Feed a raw diet? Will it hurt my dog?

A. A raw diet will NOT HURT your dog. In fact, it will IMPROVE his/her overall nutrition and physical condition. Dogs are carnivores and should have meat in their diet for balanced nutrition and proper development. In the wild, a large dog would dine on smaller animal prey, comprised of meat and some vegetable substance. The myths that raw meat will make a dog sick, make him aggressive, or give him worms, are just that--urban myths!

Wolves and wild dogs have survived quite well on a raw meat diet for centuries. Wolves residing in zoos are maintained on raw diets, nationwide.
Q. Why not feed a commercial kibble?

A.

For the most part, commercially prepared kibble is primarily comprised of grain (corn, rice, and wheat) and processed at temperatures (212 degrees F or higher) that can destroy both enzymes and amino acids .

Generally, a dog's digestive system is not able to fully digest and utilize grains. However, dogs do fully digest meat! Check the label on the food you are currently feeding and investigate the true source of meat and protein. You will likely be amazed by the small amount of meat that is actually in many brands of baked kibble.

Q. What are the benefits of a raw diet?

A.

Rin Tin Tin VIII has been fed the raw diet since early 1999 and the improvements in his overall health are incredible! Benefits include less shedding, cleaner teeth, decreased stools, relief from allergic reactions, an increased immune system, improved muscle tone, consistently larger & healthier litters, and a protein level that is conducive to the development of large breeds; and naturally protected against the development of nutrition related hip dysplasia. Studies from well-known universities indicate the source of protein, if inferior, can contribute to hip dysplasia in breeds that are predisposed.

Q. How does Rin Tin Tin Dog Food compare to the "BARF" diet?

A.

Both diets are based on feeding carnivores a proper raw meat based diet, the type of diet a dog was designed to have. Rin Tin Tin Dog Food is made with quality beef, chicken, vegetables and fruit to realistically simulate the natural raw diet of wild carnivores.

Rin Tin Tin Dog Food is fully prepared, ready to feed, and regularly tested and analyzed in laboratories to ensure its complete and consistent quality. In contrast, the BARF (Bones and Raw Food) diet is commonly made by the pet owner with chicken meat, fruit, and vegetables involving a significant amount of in-home preparation time. In-home mixing seldom provides for laboratory testing to safely avoid unacceptable levels of bacteria. Generally, in-home preparation does not provide the temperature history of the raw meat as it makes its way from the packing house to the store from which it was purchased.

Q. What about bacteria?

A.

The digestive system of a dog is much shorter than that of a human and is designed by nature to maintain a higher tolerance to bacteria. Rin Tin Tin Dog Food is tested and temperature controlled to ensure bacteria levels are neither excessive nor invasive.

Q. What makes Rin Tin Tin Dog Food superior?

A.

Rin Tin Tin Dog Food is formulated with meat procured from USDA inspected meat packing plants and processed using the highest production standards to insure freshness and quality. The beef originates from retired free-range and grass fed dairy cattle.

Q. Does it cost more to feed Rin Tin Dog Food?

A.

No! Actually it costs less! In comparing the costs of feeding a premium kibble to the costs of feeding an appropriate raw food diet, customers indicated the initial costs of feeding were similar, based on dog food prices.

However, the long-term costs of feeding a naturally nutritious raw meat diet is much lower due to a major decrease in the occurrence of many pet disorders. Rin Tin Tin raw meat diets decrease a wide array of allergic reactions, the need for regular teeth cleaning, reoccuring skin problems, obesity, and provides overall health enhancement -- with a renewed excitement for mealtime.

Q. Should I feed Fresh-Frozen or Freeze-Dried?

A.

Rin Tin Tin Dog Food is available in both fresh-frozen and freeze-dried for customer convenience. The products are identical in ingredients with the only difference being freeze-dried products have have had the moisture removed. The "mean" protein level of the frozen product is 13%. The freeze-dried, when re-hydrated with water, will recapture this 13% protein level. (Freeze-dried can be fed dry or re-hydrated.)
