"Wouldn't Eat Anything Else when Nursed Back from Near Death "

... just wanted to let you know how satisfied we are with your product!  I have been meaning to contact you about how happy we are with it! :)

We have ordered the Frozen Canine Pet Patties twice now and really love them (well, our dog does) ;) His is a long story of various problems the past couple of years, culminating with a diagnosis of Cushing's Disease this last January.

Our vet of 12 years had recently quit practicing, so this diagnosis came from a new, untried vet. To make a long story short, they overdosed him on a poisonous drug (Lysodren) that is used to stop overactive adrenal glands :(  Our dog (he's a 10-year-old boxer named Bagheera - "Baggy" for short) was at the verge of death for weeks.

We switched vets (of course) and were lucky enough to choose the best vets ever this time - but it was still a struggle to bring Baggy back :( Anyway, after weeks and weeks of caring treatment and watching him like a hawk :) he started to (amazingly) be able to walk again and act somewhat like the old Baggy. However, his once voracious appetite still hadn't returned, and I was hand feeding (with a syringe) baby food and a few other things he would take a bite or two of occasionally. This was not enough food for him though (he was a BIG boy, for a boxer, around 82 lbs!)

I was buying EVERY type of food to try to get him to eat (and I do mean, EVERYthing!) Finally, I came upon the AFS website, and the rest is history :) We received the first shipment of frozen patties and (pretty much used to Baggy not even trying anything any more) I halfheartedly opened a package and tried feeding him a piece of a patty by hand. He scarfed it up! It didn't smell that good to us, but apparently it was very attractive to Bagheera ;)

This was the first time we had seen him act like he actually *wanted* to eat anything in ages. I was thrilled :) and so proceeded to let him have as much of the patties as he would eat at that point :)  Today he is still eating mostly patties, mixed with dry food at times and sometimes supplemented by various bits of chicken, rice, pureed vegetables or whatever - and we're happy to say he is back up to his old weight of ~80 lbs!! :)

Sorry to ramble on so, but just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for making such a fantastic product available.  It is really a huge part of the lucky equation that saved our dog's life!  We're really grateful. Thank you so very much! :)

Customers for life,

PS - do you ever plan on having a local distributorship - around the NW Washington state area? There are a few good pet stores around here that have some natural foods that I'm sure would be interested! (and I'm tired of only seeing "Steve's" frozen food in these places - Bagheera wouldn't even try that stuff!)

---Thanks for your letter Vicki
