Your food arrived the same day that I had taken Little Sister to the vet.  As she had gotten sicker and sicker over the past 9 months, I repeatedly asked our vet how we would know when the "right" time was to humanely save her from experiencing undue pain or discomfort.  As the vet looked at the very lifeless body that day, he for the first time committed himself and told us that any time would no longer be too soon.  This once very, very affectionate, loving cat had lost all of her sweet personality, most of her physical strength, 2/3 of her body weight, and virtually any desire to eat.  Sobbing all the way home, I called my husband at work and we decided that we would have to say good-bye to our 16 year old loving girl within the next day or two.

Skeptically, we read your feeding instructions and laughed at your recommended serving size.  The way she had been eating, it would take her a month to eat one serving.  To make a very long story short, we quickly chucked your recommended feeding schedule and began feeding her, like a baby, on demand.  And "on demand" was every hour or two around the clock.  She clearly let us know that she loved and wanted this food, and she got it as much and as often as she requested.  After 2-1/2 weeks she had finished her "1 month" supply and had gained 6 ounces, a phenomenal amount for here.  But, more than that, the personality of our sweet, loving girl had returned.  This previously minimally responsive shell of a cat was not entirely, but maybe 75% back to her old wonderful energy that we so dearly loved.  Suddenly, though, one day, her appetite waned, and by the next day, we knew that, this time we really were going to have to say "good-bye" to her.  Though your food did not cure here, did not heal her 16 year old almost non-existent kidneys, your food gave us a gift that was priceless beyond words.  Instead of having to say good-bye to an empty shell, we were able to say good-bye to our sweet loving girl.  At the end, she had no strength, actually she had virtually no physical health left, but she had her sweetness and her love.  And for that we are eternally grateful.
